Teen Poetry Contest 2013
Are you a poet? Enter the Teen Poetry Contest! Free verse, haiku, sonnets, limericks… all forms of poetry are welcome!
There will be prizes for the first, second, and third place winners, and the winning poems (including Honorable Mentions) will be displayed in the Young Adult Library until the end of June. Winners will be notified by telephone Monday, May 27.

Contest Regulations
1. Entrants must be between the ages of 12 and 18.
2. Entrants may submit one poem.
3. Poems must be unpublished, in whole or part.
4. The maximum length of a poem is 4 pages (no minimum). Entries must be typed.
5. Poems must be submitted with a completed entry form attached. The writer’s name should NOT appear anywhere on the poem itself.
6. Please keep a copy of your poem. We cannot return the entries we receive.
Submitting Your Poem
Submit entries to the Children’s Information Desk on the second floor of the Grande Prairie Public Library.
Deadline Extended: 9:00 pm, Thursday, May 9
Poems submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
Teen Poetry Contest Party
All entrants are invited to meet their fellow poets! The event will include recognition of the contest winners, poetry readings, and other activities. Everyone is welcome to bring a favourite poem or one of their own poems to share with the group.
