Summer Reading Game

Create your online logbook starting June 20, and begin recording your time to earn prizes starting July 2!

The Online Summer Reading Game

How it works!
Children must register online and record the hours that they have read each week.  For every three hours that a child has read (or is read to) he/she will receive 1 token.  Each reader can accumulate tokens to "purchase" prizes at the Summer Reading Game Store - the more tokens, the bigger the prize!  However, the maximum number of prizes per week is 3.  Once a child has read for 24 hours, he/she will be eligible to enter the grand prize draw, and can continue reading and gaining tokens to earn more prizes!

Who can participate?
Children between the ages of 6-12 can read to qualify for prizes.  Preschoolers between the ages of 3-5 can also participate in the Summer Reading Game by being read to by parents, older siblings and care givers.  Preschoolers receive 1 token for every hour they read.

The Summer Reading Game - En Français!

The Summer Reading Game is back, with a twist!
This year the Grande Prairie Public Library is pleased to offer a French Summer Reading Game. Much like its English counterpart, the French program will offer children a unique opportunity to develop their French language skills through programs and reading. The best part of all is … it’s free! Children need only register online and record their time spent reading in order to claim prizes every week from July 2 – August 31.

How it works!
Children must register and record the hours that they have read each week online.
